What Is Spinal Intersegmental Traction Therapy?

Spinal Intersegmental Traction is a roller therapy that induces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints for restoration. Intersegmental traction therapy is great for stiff muscles and restricted joints such as for patient with osteoarthritis. A typical therapy session lasts for 15 minutes.

What Are The Benefits?

  • Reduces muscle spasms
  • Increase blood flow and oxygen to ligaments, muscles and discs
  • Stretches ligaments and muscles
  • Reduce spinal misalignement
  • Increase blood flow and oxygen to the discs, ligaments and muscles
  • Can help patients improve balance, coordination, strength and mobility.

The Restoration of Functional Movement!

Since the Goal of Intersegmental Traction Therapy is to restore the functional movement of your spine, today, more and more Chiropractic Doctors are realizing the importance of maintaining the spine’s mobility.

By using the Intersegmental Traction table, the three rollers manipulate the spine to restore functional movement to improve Vertebral Subluxation. Vertebral subluxation (fixation) is a major interference to the spine’s nerve system which can cause further problems – as serious as accelerated aging.

When your vertebra stays out of its normal position for any length of time, your joints lock, your ligaments and muscles harden, and finally, the joints fuse. In time this can mean an immobilized spine.

Intersegmental traction can be particularly effective when used in conjunction with another chiropractic treatment such as a chiropractic adjustment. The traction helps increase the mobility of your spine, reduce tension and correct spinal misalignment.
